Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and increasing global interconnectedness have created new opportunities and challenges for contemporary Islamic education. Conventional educational approaches often struggle to integrate technological innovation with Islamic educational philosophy while fostering learners' global competencies and ethical responsibility. This study aims to redefine contemporary Islamic education by developing an integrative framework that combines Islamic educational philosophy, artificial intelligence, and Global Citizenship Education (GCED). Using a qualitative library research approach, the study critically examines classical and contemporary literature on Islamic educational philosophy, AI in education, and GCED. The findings reveal that an effective model of contemporary Islamic education should harmonize the principles of  tawhid ,  adab , justice, and human dignity with AI-assisted learning, digital ethics, critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and global responsibility. The proposed framework positions AI as a pedagogical tool guided by Islamic ethical values while promoting responsible global citizenship through inclusive, sustainable, and human-centered education. This reconstruction contributes to the development of an adaptive, ethical, and future-oriented paradigm that prepares Muslim learners to participate responsibly in an increasingly interconnected digital world without compromising their Islamic identity.
