DEVELOPING A MODEL FOR INTERNALIZING AHLUS SUNNAH WAL JAMAAH VALUES THROUGH PLAY-BASED LEARNING TO SHAPE RELIGIOUS, MODERATE, AND SOCIAL CHARACTER IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model for internalizing Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah values through play-based learning to shape religious, moderate, and social character in early childhood. The study is motivated by the importance of introducing moderate Islamic values from an early age through learning approaches that are appropriate to children’s developmental characteristics. Early childhood education should not only focus on cognitive development, but also on the formation of religious awareness, moral behavior, social sensitivity, and moderate attitudes. The values of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah discussed in this study include tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh, i’tidal, ukhuwah, manners, love of worship, and respect for Islamic traditions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a conceptual development design. Data were obtained through literature review, observation of early childhood learning practices, and analysis of the need for an Aswaja-based learning model. The findings show that the internalization of Aswaja values in early childhood can be developed through five stages: value introduction, teacher role modeling, meaningful play, behavioral habituation, and simple reflection. This model helps children recognize religious values through daily worship practices, moderate values through respect for peers, and social values through cooperation, sharing, empathy, and mutual care. The study recommends that early childhood teachers integrate Aswaja values contextually, joyfully, and non-rigidly through learning experiences close to children’s daily lives.
